What does it mean to believe in Equanimtity Part 1

Enchirdion

Epictetus – Seek not that the things which happen should happen as you wish:but wish the things which happen to be as they are, and you will have a tranquil flow of life.

I agree with this statement. The word enchiridion means in simpler terms, a book of facts, or I like to call it, a book of faces.

When we get annoyed with anyone we should remember that the other person l like us is the offspring of the divine.

In attacking them, we are undermining ourselves and forget our common humanity, hence Equanimity will never be reached.

Equanimity comes from a concept I first heard of through Pema Chodron, an American Tibetan Buddhist, in The places that may scare you.

We have no power over external things, and the good that ought to be the object of our earnest pursuit, is to be found only within ourselves.- Ritter

The point of this blog is to refresh our minds of stoicism and what it truly means to believe in Equanimity.
